Lake Powell 2010

We found a great camp. The water was clear and there was all sorts of hiking and exploring to do. The two white houseboats are where we stayed and the little island behind them was named "turtle island" by all the kids.
We enjoyed our time there (a full week) but were saddened by the news that our uncle Ray had passed away while we were there. We came home a day early just in time to make it to his funeral. Ray Farrell was a great guy, a hard worker and a friend.
At camp the kids swam and swam, did tricks off the water slide, hiked and caught lizards. The adult men watched all kinds of weight lifting videos! Ha ha! But surprisingly they did not have their annual pull up competition...
We all enjoyed the homemade cookies that us ladies had prepared and frozen special for the trip and had some good meals.

Bentley couldn't get enough of jumping off of the houseboat.

This year we got a new camera that shoots underwater. Here are Audrey, Cecily and Jack.

This cave was very near by our camp. One day we packed our lunch and headed there for a lunch break.

And there was plenty of tubing and tube wars. This is Annabelle and Bentley.
There was a huge rainstorm while we were up the lake exploring. We took refuge in a huge overhang until the storm died down. It was really cool. We saw all kinds of waterfalls formed from the rain.

Bentley picked up some sweet sun glasses at Dangling Rope.

And the girls played their polly pockets together.
Lake Powell and summer seems so far away! Thanksgiving is next week and Christmas is right around the corner!
