Cecily had her 5th birthday! This year it fell on the same day as Father's day. She didn't want to celebrate it on that day because it is "Daddy's special day." So we celebrated the day before.
This year I did not have birthday party extravaganzas with their friends. The kids could pick a place that they wanted to eat at with just our family and then have cake and ice cream with cousins. At first Cecily wanted to go to Chucky Cheese. Then she changed her mind because of the long drive there and decided she wanted to go to the Chinese restaurant here in town. She loves "Chinese Chicken."
That saturday we had the biggest most crazy storm. It hailed and it poured buckets!! And later that night we went to Shauna's who was having a BBQ for Cecily, Audrey and Fathers day. Since my Cecily has the same birthday as my mom, June 21st.
A few days after Cecily turned 5 she announced that she needed to take her training wheels off of her bike because she is now 5. She is working on the balance thing now.

Cecily's favorites at 5:
Favorite food:
Sausage, strawberries, chocolate and ketchup
Favorite object:
Her "snubby wuvy" which she named herself. This is a fuzzy soft little snuggly pink horse that has a head but has a flat kind of blanket body. This was given to her by Grandma Hill when she was a baby and still she can't go to sleep with out it.
Also the middle swing on the swing set. There are three swings and she has claimed ownership of the middle one. If anyone dares to swing on it she begins the wailing. For this reason Bentley just doing his job of being brother will often yell from the back yard that he is on the middle swing just to get her upset.
Favorite thing to do:
Draw, draw and draw. But do not even think about making her draw on the back of a paper that has already had something drawn on the front.
She also likes to go to church. I think this has something to do with her great primary teachers.
She loves her baby dolls and stuffed animals.
Favorite words:
Ketch (for Ketchup) and Choc for (chocolate). Lately she has actually been shortening other words too. You have to be quick to catch on to what she is saying.
She says "I-Yay-I" a lot. Usually when referring to a long drive or something that is long.
Favorite friends:
Her cousins Annabelle and Maggie
Sophie Capson, Kiah and Eva from across the street
Interesting facts about Cecily:
Cecily is excited for kindergarten and when it was time to get her immunizations for kindergarten registration she was the bravest little thing. They had to give a total of 4. 2 in each leg. She just sat there as still as can be and didn't even grimmace or shed a tear. When they were all done I was waiting for the scream and looked down at her face and it was just no big deal to her.
She sometimes talks out of the side of her mouth for more emphasis on certain words. She is so funny!
She always wants a kiss when I have to run an errand or go out. She runs and repeats over and over KISS KISS until she gets and gives a kiss on the cheek. Then she is good to go until you get back.
She loves her Grandmas and must talk to them on the phone if she knows I am on the phone with them.
She throws lots of tantrums still but has the sweetest little heart and gives the best hugs! I love you Cecily!

Great post! It was fun to get to know your little gal. I didn't realize her and Jax will be in the same year of school. Good luck with Kindergarten. Maybe you won't be such a baby like me...but you did say it was hard for you to send Bentley.
Happy Birthday Cecily!
