Powell 2011

We spent a fun filled week in Lake Powell the first week of August. The entire family was there with the exception of Maddy who stayed home so she would not miss soccer try outs and baby Braxton who stayed home with his Grandma. There are so many pictures from the trip that I wanted to post that I have been putting it off for a long time. And now I am very behind! I'll be speed posting so the writing will probably be lacking...

These family pictures were taken on day six of Powell. Seriously wind blown hair!
Our little family.
Cecily, my little fish. She LOVES the water.
Bentley on the Jet Ski.
My Dad on the jet ski, Go Grandpa!!
Bentley's toe about a week after we got back from the trip. On the last day his toenail got ripped off by the bottom of the wave runner. It has been 4 months since this happened and no toe nail has started to grow back. I think the root was pulled out too. It may never grow back but Bentley is cool with it. He says it "doesn't affect me."
Two of my nieces Samantha and Audrey with their mom, my sister Shauna.
Bentley jumping off the house boat.
All the boy cousins except for Jack. Bentley 9, George 9, Jake 12, and Connelly 9.
Up from camp. Houseboats in the distance. We parked the two side by side so we could just walk right through the gate to the other boat.

My brother Allen and his daughter Sophia. It was Sophie's first time to Powell. She loved it.
Cecily under the shade hut near rainbow bridge.
My mom and dad with their grandkids (except Maddy, Braxton, and Samantha) at Rainbow Bridge. From left to right: George, Bennett, Jake, Jack, Connelly, Audun, Annabelle, Sophie, Bentley, Cecily, Audrey, and Maggie.

Ha, Ha.
We packed our lunch and headed up to Cathedral Canyon. We went up as far as we could go to the end of the canyon. When the canyon got too skinny for the boats a bunch of us were able to jump in and head up the skinny crack. Here are Maggie and myself.
Cecily (who was quite the dare devil) and Audrey.
Maggie
Me and Aud.
Cecily heading towards the deep dark corner.
and having fun!
Bryan and myself.
This is as far as the boats could go. We tied them all together and enjoyed our lunch in the shade. Last year we came to this exact spot and there was a sandbar we got out on and had our lunch. This year it was very far under water.
Annie and Bentley dancing to the tunes.

Connelly and Sharilee.
Maggie, Connelly, and Bennett.
Bentley and George.

Jack had his birthday while we were there and Sharilee baked him a cake with what she could buy at Dangling Rope.
Annabelle and Cecily eating cereal for breakfast ready for another fun day in the sand, sun and water.
Sophia liked to be rolled up in the blanket and pretend she was a baby eskimo. Here she is with Audrey, Maggie, and Cecily. Sophie loved having the attention of all her older cousins!
At camp these two girlies (Sophia and Cecily) built sand "wedding cakes" together.
And the boys built a miniature canyon in the sand complete with its own Rainbow Bridge. They spent hours and hours carrying buckets of water up the beach to pour it out in the canyon so it would erode more and more sand away.
Here is their "Grand Canyon."
The two house boats all snugged up together.
Another picture of the girls playing in the sand.
And one of their sand "Wedding Cakes."
