Camping at Lodge Pole Campground and the Kokane Salmon Run

Originally we had planned to go out to our secret spot passed Mirror Lake but after the kids got home from school on Friday we were short on time and ended up looking for a closer spot. We decided to check out Lodge Pole campground. It is just about a mile below Daniels Summit Lodge. It was pretty posh camping with the paved roads and the picnic table and fire pit. I was kind of against the idea for that reason but it turned out pretty nice. It is a beautiful campground and we were able to find a spot that was far enough away from other campers. Also it was a bonus to go to the Summit for dinner one of the nights!!
Krew, Kiah, Moana and Kobe joined us for one of the afternoons. We had them pose with Cecily's bike because it is the actual bike that all four of these kids learned on. First it was Krew's (minus the girly add ons), then Bentley's, then Kiah's and now Cecily's. The kids brought their bikes and the campground had a good road they could ride on.
We drove out by Strawberry where they have the Kokane Salmon run. We went there last year also. The kids always enjoy it. The weather was beautiful.

This time many of the fish were jumping. It was fun to watch.

The kids found some of the eggs too.
Here are Cecily and Kiah showing the eggs to the camera.
I was so happy that my parents came to visit us at our camp. My Dad had had chemo two days before and was not feeling well but made it out anyways. I'm so glad they came to visit us. The kids enjoyed it too. Cecily showed grandpa around her "secret house" in the trees and grandpa helped Bentley and Cecily place little pieces of bread around so they could watch the chipmunks come out to eat it.
We took a morning hike to explore. Here are Bryan and Cecily.

The salmon run looks really cool. I'd like to take my kids there some time.

That looks really fun, we should try and make it one of these years.
